Laibel Bugman

Laibel Bugman lived with his family in Góra Kalwaria, south of Warsaw. This small town, whose Yiddish name was Ger, was one of the most important religious centres for eastern European Jewry. The invasion by German troops marked the start of the systematic persecution of the approximately 3,000 Jews of Ger. In February 1941, they had to move into the Warsaw ghetto. One year later, SS members deported them from Warsaw to the extermination camp Treblinka. Laibel Bugman was not heard from again.
