Zeyda Shaposhnik

ermordet 1942 in Choschtschewatoje

Zeyda Shaposhnik lebte in dem Dorf Choschtschewatoje, nahe Uman im Süden der Ukraine. Etwa zwei Drittel der Bewohner waren Juden. Viele von ihnen arbeiteten in einer der drei jüdischen Kolchosen in der Region. Ende Juli 1941 wurde der Ort von deutschen Truppen eingenommen. Am 16. Februar 1942 erschossen deutsche Einheiten etwa 1000 Frauen, Männer und Kinder am Ufer des Flusses Bug. Unter ihnen war auch Zeyda Shaposhnik.


Zeyda Shaposhnik lived in the village of Khoshchevatoye, near Uman in southern Ukraine. About two thirds of the local population were Jewish. Many of the Jews worked in one of the three local Jewish collective farms. At the end of July 1941, the area was occupied by German troops. On 16 February 1942, German units shot to death about 1,000 women, men and children on the banks of the River Bug. One of those murdered was Zeyda Shaposhnik.
