Viele deportierten sie in das Vernichtungslager Sobibór, und vergifteten sie mit Motorabgasen. Von Freda Fine und ihren Kindern fehlt seither jede Spur.

Freda Fine lived with her children Hannah and Yaakov in the small Polish town of Włodawa. With the German occupation of Poland in September 1939 came the systematic dispossession and persecution of the town’s 6,000 Jews. In early 1941, the occupiers forced the Jewish population to move into a ghetto. Police and SS units shot many people on the spot. They also deported many to the Sobibor Extermination Camp, where they poisoned them with engine exhaust fumes. No trace od Freda Fine and her children was ever found.
