Haia Bindeglid

Haia Bindeglid wurde 1909 in dem rumänischen Ort Wama geboren. Sie heiratete Elieser und bekam 1935 eine Tochter. Im Oktober 1940 floh die junge Familie in die benachbarte Stadt Gura Humora. Sie wollte do den antisemitischen Übergriffen der Anhänger Ion Antonescu entgehen, unter dessen Regime Rumänien seit September 1940 stand. Ein Jahr später wurde die Familie zusammen mit den anderen Juden der Region nach Transnistrien deportiert. Haia Bindeglid starb 1942 im Durchgangslager Mogilew an Typhus. Sie war 33 Jahre alt.


Haia Bindeglid was born in 1909 in the Romanian town of Vama. She married and gave birth to a daughter in 1935. In October 1940 the young family fled to the neighbouring town of Gura Humora. They hoped this would be an escape from the ant-Semitic attacks by followers of Ion Antonescu, who controlled Romania from September 1940. One year later, the family was deported to Transnisria, together with the other Jews of the region. Haia Bindeglid died of typhus in 1942 at the Mogilew transit camp. She was 33 years old.
