Chaye Andermann

Chaye Andermann lebte in Sereth, im Norden Rumäniens. Am Vorabend des zweiten Weltkrieges lebten hier über 2000 Juden. Schon seit September 1940, als radikale Antisemiten die Regierung in Rumänien übernahmen, litten sie unter Repressionen. Am 20. Juni 1941 wurden die Juden von Sereth auf dem Marktplatz zusammen getrieben und deportiert. Die Spur von Chaye Andermann verliert sich nach der Deportation. Die genauen Umstände ihres Todes sind nicht bekannt.


Chaye Andermann lived in Siret, in northern Romania. On the eve of World War II, there were 2,000 Jews living here. They were already suffering under repressions enacted in September 1940 by the radical anti-Semites who had taken control of the Romanian government. On 20 June 1941, the Jews of Siret were forced to assemble at the marketplace. From there, they were deported. Chaye Andermann was not heard from again, after the deportation. The exact circumstances of her death are unknown.
