Chaja Lubniecka

Chaja Lubniecka lived in Płońsk, a small town northwest of Warsaw. Almost half its population was Jewish. On 5 September 1939 German troops occupied the town. Immediately, the occupying authority forced the Jewish population to work on streets, in fields and swamps. In May 1941 a ghetto was established, and right away about 12,000 Jews from Płońsk and environs had to move there. Between October and December 1942 nearly all the Jews of Płońsk were deported to the Auschwitz extermination camp and murdered there. One of the victims was Chaja Lubniecka.
