Sara Weitz

Hausfrau, geboren 1887 in unbekannt, ermordet 1942 in Kulmhof/Chełmno (VL)

Sara Weitz lived in the small Polish town of Ozorkow, near Lodz. She married a businessman, Schaul Weitz, and they had seven children. The children were already grown up when the German Army occupied the city on September 7th,1939. Sara Weitz was among those who suffered from the persecution that followed. At the end of 1939 she, together with all the Jews of Ozorkow, had to move into a ghetto. Sara Weitz died in 1942 – it is probable she and her family were poisoned with carbon monoxide in the extermination camp of Belzec. She was 55 years old.
