Rosa Meisel

geboren 1893 in Szenicz/Senica/Senitz

Rosa Meisel wurde 1893 im slowakischen Szenicz geboren. Zusammen mit ihrem Mann Julius und ihrem Neffen Marcel wohnte sie in Innsbruck, wo sie ein Modehaus besaßen. Nach dem „Anschluss“ Österreichs an das Deutsche Reich im März 1938 wurden die jüdischen Geschäfte „arisiert“. Rosa Meisel und ihr Mann wurden gezwungen, ihr Modehaus aufzugeben. Ihr Neffe Marcel floh im Juni 1938 nach England. Rosa und Julius Meisel mussten nach Wien umsiedeln. Von dort deportierte die SS sie 1942 nach Polen. Seitdem fehlt von Rosa Meisel jede Spur.


Rosa Meisel was born in 1893 in the Slovakian town of Szenicz. Later she and her husband Julyus Meisel and their nephew Marcel lived in Innsbruck, Austria. They owned a clothing shop. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich in March 1938, Jewish shops were “aryanized,” or forcibly sold. Rosa Meisel and her husband were forced to forfeit their clothing business. Her nephew Marcel fled to England in June 1938. Rosa and Julyus Meisel were forced to move to Vienna. In 1942 the SS deported them from there to Poland. Rosa Meisel was never seen again.
