Rachel Bida

Rachel Bida lebte in dem litauischen Doff Želva. Ende Juni 1941 marschierte die deutsche Wehrmacht ein. Bald darauf wurde Rachel Bida wie alle Juden von Želva in die nächst größere Stadt Ukmergé verschleppt. Im August und September desselben Jahres erschossen Angehörige des SS-Einsatzkommandos 3 unter aktiver Beteiligung litauischer Helfer im nahe Ukmergé gelegenen Wald von Pivonija über 12.000 Juden aus der Region. Unter ihnen befand sich wahrscheinlich auch Rachel Bida .

Rachel Bida lived in the Lithuanian village of Želva. At the end of June 1941, the German Wehrmacht marched in. It was not long before Rachel Bida was transported to the nearest large city, Ukmergé, together with the rest of the Jews of Želva. In August and September of that same year, members of the SS Mobile Killing Unit 3, with active help from Lithuanian assistants, shot more than 12,000 Jews from the region in the forested area of Pivonija near Ukmergé. Among them was, in all likelihood, Rachel Bida.
