Blima Brand

Hausfrau, geboren 1895 in Jedlicze (bei Jasło), ermordet 1942 in Belzec/Bełżec (VL)

Blima Brand wurde in Jedlice geboren, einer Kleinstadt in den polnischen Vorkarpaten. Sie zog nach Krakau und heiratete dort den Pelzhändler Solomon Brand. Die beiden hatten zwei Kinder. Noch bevor der Krieg begann, ging die Familie zurück nach Jedlice. Im September 1939 besetzten deutsche Truppen die Stadt. Im Sommer 1942 trieben die Besatzer alle jüdischen Einwohner in die nahe gelegene Stadt Krosno. Von dort wurden Blima Brand und ihre Familie in das Vernichtungslager Belzec deportiert und wahrscheinlich noch im Sommer 1942 in der Gaskammer ermordet. Blima Brand war 47 Jahre alt.


Blima Brand was born in Jedlice, a small town in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains. She moved to Cracow and there married a furrier, Solomon Brand. The couple had two children. Even before the war began, the family returned to Jedlice. In September 1939, German troops occupied the town. In the summer of 1942, the occupiers forced all the Jewish residents to the nearby town of Krosno. Blima Brand and her family were deported from there to the extermination camp Belzec, where they were murdered in the gas chamber probably that same summer. Blima Brand was 47 years old.
