David Lefkovits lebte in Bol, einem slowakischen Dorf an der ungarischen Grenze. Im November 1938 wurde das Gebiet Ungarn zugesprochen. Sofort begannen die neuen Machthaber mit der Verfolgung und Entrechtung der Juden. Im Frühjahr 1944 besetzte die Wehrmacht Ungarn. SS und Polizeieinheiten trieben die Juden der Region in das Ghetto Sátoraljaújhely. Zwischen Mai und Juli wurden dessen Bewohner in das Vernichtungslager Auschwitz deportiert und die meisten unmittelbar nach ihrer Ankunft mit Giftgas erstickt. Unter den Opfern war auch David Lefkovits.

David Lefkovits lived in Bol, a Slovakian village on the Hungarian border. In November 1938 the area was handed over to Hungary. The new powers immediately began to persecute the Jews and deprive them of their rights. In the spring of 1944 the Wehrmacht occupied Hungary. SS and police units drove the region’s Jews to the Sátoraljaújhely ghetto. Between May and July the people living there were deported to the Auschwitz extermination camp, where most were asphyxiated with poison gas shortly after arrival. David Lefkovits was among the victims.
