Jakob Szwarc

Jakob Szwarc lebte im westpolnischen Włocławek, einer Stadt, in der etwa 10000 Juden wohnten. Im September 1939 besetzte die Wehrmacht den Ort. Kurz darauf verschleppte die deutsche Verwaltung mehrere Tausend Juden aus Włocławek nach Lodz. Die etwa 4000 Verbliebenen wurden im April 1942 in das Vernichtungslager Kulmhof deportiert und dort von der SS mit Motorabgasen vergiftet. Unter welchen Umständen Jakob Szwarc zu Tode kam, ist nicht bekannt. Er war 27 Jahre alt.

Jakob Szwarc lived in the western Polish town of Włocławek, which was home to about 10,000 Jews. In September 1939 the Wehrmacht occupied the town. Soon, the German administration transported several thousand Jews from Włocławek to Lodz. The remaining 4,000 Jews were shipped off to the Chelmno extermination camp in April 1942; there, the SS poisoned them with engine exhaust fumes. The exact circumstances of Jakob Szwarc’s death are unknown. He was 27 years old.
