Polina Rubin wurde 1910 in Jelisawetgrad, dem heute ukrainischen Kirowograd geboren. Die jüdische Gemeinde der Stadt umfasste vor dem Krieg über 15.000 Mitglieder und war ein Zentrum des jüdischen Lebens in der Region. Im August 1941 besetzte die deutsche Wehrmacht die Stadt. Ihr folgte das Einsatzkommando 4b, das sofort mit der Erschießung von Juden begann. Bis Ende September wurden 5000 Menschen ermordet. Eines der Opfer war Polina Rubin. Sie wurde 31 Jahre alt.

Polina Rubin was born in 1910 in Jelisawetgrad, now the Ukrainian town of Kirovohrad. The town’s Jewish community had more than 15,000 members before the war world II and was a centre of Jewish life in the region. In August 1941 the German Wehrmacht occupied the town. In the wake of the troops, Mobile killing squad 4b arrived and began shooting the Jewish residents. By the end of September the Mobile killing squad had murdered 5,000 people. Polina Rubin was one of the victims. She was 31 years old.
