Solomon Sundelsohn

Solomon Sundelsohn wurde 1925 als Sohn von Israel und Hana Sundelsohn in Chişinău geboren. Mit drei Geschwistern wuchs er in der damals rumänischen Stadt auf, in der 1940 etwa 50.000 Juden lebten. Im Juli 1941 besetzten deutsche und rumänische Truppen die Stadt. In den ersten Tagen der Besatzungszeit wurden etwa 10.000 Juden ermordet. Auf Befehl des rumänischen Diktators Ion Antonescu begannen rumänische Soldaten am 8. Oktober 1941 mit der Deportation der Ghettobewohner nach Transnistrien. Die genauen Umstände des Todes von Solomon Sundelsohn im Jahr 1943 sind nicht bekannt.


Solomon Sundelsohn was born in 1925 to Israel and Hana Sundelsohn in Chişinău. He and his three siblings grew up in what was then a Romanian city, which in 1940 was home to about 50,000 Jews. In July 1941 German and Romanian troops occupied the city. In the first days of the occupation, about 10,000 Jews were murdered. On 8 October 1941, on the orders of Romanian dictator Ion Antonescu, Romanian soldiers began deporting the people from the ghetto to Transnistria. The circumstances of Solomon Sundelsohn’s death in 1943 are not known.
