Leon Gutman

Leon Gutman, der Sohn von Eliasz und Maria Gutman, wurde am 30. Dezember 1938 in der polnischen Industriestadt Lodz geboren. Anfang September 1939 besetzte die Wehrmacht die Stadt. Kurz danach begann die deutsche Verwaltung mit der Konzentration aller Juden im Armenviertel Bałuty. Auch Leon Gutman musste im Ghetto leben. Bei der Auflösung des Ghettos im August 1944 wurde er mit seinen Eltern in das Vernichtungslager Auschwitz Birkenau deportiert und dort kurz nach seiner Ankunft mit Zyklon B ermordet. Leon Gutman war 5 Jahre alt.

Leon Gutman, son of Eliasz and Maria Gutman, was born on 30 December 1938 in the Polish industrial centre of Lodz. In early September 1939 the Wehrmacht occupied the city, and soon afterward the German administration began to concentrate all the Jews in the poor district, Bałuty. Leon Gutman was forced to resettle in the ghetto. During the liquidation of the ghetto in August 1944, he and his parents were deported to the Auschwitz Birkenau extermination camp. Leon Gutman was murdered with Zyklon B shortly after his arrival. He was 5 years old.
