Ernst Jsrael wurde am 4. Oktober 1895 im anhaltischen Leopoldshall geboren. Während des Novemberpogroms 1938 kam es auch in den Städten und Dörfern Anhalts zu zahlreichen Ausschreitungen und Verhaftungen. Ernst Jsrael wollte sich seiner Festnahme entziehen und sprang aus dem Fenster. Dabei brach er sich das Genick. Ernst Jsrael war 43 Jahre alt.

Ernst Jsrael was born on 4 October 1895 in the town of Leopoldshall in Anhalt, Germany. During the pogroms in November 1938, the towns and villages of Anhalt, too, were the scene of many riots and arrests. Ernst Jsrael wanted to escape from his captors, and leapt from a window. He broke his neck and died. Ernst Jsrael was 43 years old.
